Cooperation of visually guided behaviors

چکیده
In this paper we present modeling, analysis and synthesis of visual behaviors of agents engaged in navi-gational tasks. We consider situations in which two agents can navigate independently or in cooperation. For the purpose of modeling the behaviors we have adopted a formalism from the Discrete Events Systems (DES) theory, suitable for investigating control-theoretic issues of a system. The focus of this paper is on the identiication of elementary behaviors and their composition leading to more complex behaviors. We distinguish two kinds of elementary behaviors: one where observations are directly connected with actions, and another where observations and actions are either received or transmitted. The use of the DES formalism allows us to synthesize complex behaviors in a systematic fashion and guarantee their controllability.

Aim: The current study was adminstrated with the aim of investigating mood characteristics and components of marital interaction in mothers with one or more than one child with visually impairment. Method: The research method was descriptive and the design was ex post facto. The population of this study was three categories of mothers with one child, more than one child with visually impairme...
متن کاملPerceiving possibilities for action: on the necessity of calibration and perceptual learning for the visual guidance of action.
Tasks such as steering, braking, and intercepting moving objects constitute a class of behaviors, known as visually guided actions, which are typically carried out under continuous control on the basis of visual information. Several decades of research on visually guided action have resulted in an inventory of control laws that describe for each task how information about the sufficiency of one...
متن کاملVision Drives Accurate Approach Behavior during Prey Capture in Laboratory Mice
The ability to genetically identify and manipulate neural circuits in the mouse is rapidly advancing our understanding of visual processing in the mammalian brain [1, 2]. However, studies investigating the circuitry that underlies complex ethologically relevant visual behaviors in the mouse have been primarily restricted to fear responses [3-5]. Here, we show that a laboratory strain of mouse (...
متن کاملSignal Intensity of High B-value Diffusion-weighted Imaging for the Detection of Prostate Cancer
Background: Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is a main component of multiparametric MRI for prostate cancer detection. Recently, high b value DWI has gained more attention because of its capability for tumor characterization. Objective: To assess based on histopathological findings of transrectal ultrasound (TRUS)-guided prostate biopsy as a reference, an...
متن کاملEvolving Visually-Guided Robots Able to Discriminate Between Different Landmarks
In this paper we present a set of experiments in which mobile robots able to visually discriminate between different landmarks were obtained through artificial evolution. Individuals were evolved in simulation and then tested on the physical robot. Evolved individuals were able to visually navigate toward the right landmark and to solve the problem that often the sensory states are ambiguous (i...
